Gemini Work

Get more out of Gemini in your school or district.Documented workflows for the Gemini app and Gemini Notebook.

Gemini Work teaches school and district staff and instructional designers to define useful tasks, keep a project brief current, check results against their sources, and continue work across sessions. Each participant follows guidance suited to the Google tools their organization has turned on.

The case

Why a documented workflow matters

A documented workflow gives your team a consistent way to define the task, provide current sources, review the result, and resume work in a later session.

Current project context

Keep the current requirements, source files, and decisions available at the beginning of a session. Explicit project records help you check what the assistant knows and supply anything missing before work begins.

Continuity you can hand off

A reviewed handoff records completed work, decisions, checks, and the next task. A teammate or a fresh session can use those records to resume the project and verify that it has the current version.

How much checking the work needs

Match the level of checking to the consequences of the work: a brief review for an exploratory draft, documented verification and human approval for material that will be published or acted on.

A workflow you reuse

Use a consistent procedure across projects: define the outcome, confirm access, provide context, review the result, and save a handoff. Reuse approved instructions and templates as your team gains experience.

The program

What this module is

Gemini Work is a hands-on course in using Gemini with a school or district Google account across multi-session projects. Participants leave with a personalized starter kit: a project brief template, organization rules, rules for a project notebook, a skill template, and a report of their own project decisions.

Nine sections combine explanations, practical responses, and self-checks. Allow about 60 minutes, plus time to test the workflow on an approved project. An optional tenth section shows instructional designers how to build a course notebook in Gemini Notebook from approved course materials.

Inclusive AI Strategies adapts the module to your organization’s AI policies, governance expectations, and project requirements. Participants choose which capabilities are available and approved: Gemini Notebook, connected Google apps, uploads, Gemini in Docs and Gmail, chat history, skills, and scheduled actions. Manual alternatives are included in the same module.

Deliver the module through Canvas, with saved progress and completion reporting, or run a facilitated workshop using a workshop code. Each participant keeps an individual record.

Your working environment

One module for different access levels

What Gemini can do depends on your Google Workspace for Education edition and on what your administrator turns on. Some schools have Gemini Notebook and connected Google apps; some have Gemini inside Docs and Gmail; some have only the Gemini app. The module gives guidance for each combination, and every path includes human review and a current project brief.

You can revise your choices as your available tools change. Your activity responses and completed self-checks remain in the same participant record.
